Barbs didn’t have a great ‘tude about the whole thing, but we placated her by having Chuck accompany her in seeing another Gaudi building earlier today. (Snaps to Chuck for taking that one).
This sums up how great the beach was: Chuck said, “I don’t even have a beer and this is amazing”. That should tell you enough right there. Barbs on the other hand seemed to have a harder time relaxing
We left the beach, and the lovely making-out couple sharing one beach chair, to get some lunch. We were sad to say goodbye, as we felt we had grown close with the beach, and the couple. We started with calamari, melon with jamon, and marinated salmon, and then continued onto the next course with paella and great tasting sangria to pull the whole meal together.
On the other hand, Chuck does not use Spanish at all, but his own version that we like to call Spanglish. This consists of speaking English with a Spanish accent. His favorite thing to say when someone offers him something on the street is not the common ‘no gracias’, or ‘nada’, but rather he says “eeees okie”. Today, while in a kitchen-supply shop, he asked a salesman “ees fo cigarettes o ees fo sal?”, in regard to a bowl. In regular English this would be: “is this bowl used to hold cigarette butts, or salt?”
Until tomorrow:
