Warning: not a typical post because everything went right. AKA this might be (is) a boring post, however we feel it only right to still go through the chronicles of the day.
| First, we need to address the dinner from last night. We all agree it’s the best meal we have had thus far. We might just think this because the lunch was so extremely horrid and scary, but still it was amazing. We started off with the famous tomato bread with jamón, but this time is was delicious. Even Barbs and Cedar liked it, a first for the trip. Hannah’s sangria was the best yet and the entrees were even more impressive. Chuck and Barbs opted for fish options while Cedar got filet, and Hannah had the duck. All members of the family were so happy with what they ordered. We, (Hannah and Cedar), originally planned to split half of each other’s meal, yet after tasting the dishes we ordered, neither one of us wanted to share. We think we are going to like the food in France. |
We headed out for a beach day, every time encountering a different view that took our breath away. There really is nothing like it in America. We were satisfied simply staring out at the views, and Barbs even admitted to relaxing; granted she had to completely ditch the three of us, find a secluded area completely out of sunlight, and have her book to read, but that is all minute.
Due to the stress imposed on us by the possibility of impending sunburn. Hannah and Cedar began to loudly fight in English over the amount of remaining sunscreen in the can. In the middle of a quiet, relaxing, French, topless, beach, Cedar was yelling at Hannah for using too much sunscreen THREE days ago in Barcelona, while Hannah was yelling at Cedar for not letting her have enough sunscreen today. Spoiler alert: we are both burnt to a red crisp. And no, it won’t turn into a tan.
After hanging at the beach and talking so much about mussels, we wanted some mussels for lunch. We found a restaurant and enjoyed mussels and frites two different styles: one with a tomato sauce (Catalan style), and one order with a sweet red wine sauce. It was killer.
After a brief respite in the hotel, we ventured out for an afternoon of shopping in the local shops. We (Cedar and Hannah) bought our first souvenirs of the trip, headbands. You know nothing funny happened when we are talking about our headbands.
We walked around for a while longer and then decided to grab something quick and easy to eat. We found a stand that sold pizzas and paninis, and crossed every appendage on our bodies, in hopes that Italian food wasn’t inedible everywhere in Spain/France.
“What did you guys use for conditioner?”
“The stuff in the shower” -Chuck
“…oh you mean the lotion?”
“……………I thought it felt like glue.” –Chuck
He washed his hair with lotion instead of conditioner not once, but twice.
That’s all for the day. Tomorrow we are heading to another destination in France.
We’ll keep you posted as always,
-Hannah and Cedar
